Using ballistic weave and armor can get you pretty decent numbers throw in 50 dr 50 er and 40 rad resist from perks 30% reduced damage from lone wanderer 10% from attack dog. Some builds are not ment to use power armor and ballistic weave is needed for them. I don't always run around in power armor so any extra damage resist is welcome.

It basically comes down to: Battered Fedora. and then the rest (newsboy cap, green cap and something else). They all offer +1 CHR if I remember correctly except the battered fedora which gives +1 LCK.
